This disclosure describes how Apenir Innovations Pvt. Ltd. approaches the privacy and security of health information in connection with the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), where applicable to our services.
1. Scope
This disclosure applies to protected health information (PHI) that Apenir may process on behalf of users or healthcare partners through our devices, apps, and reports.
2. Safeguards
We maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of health information, including encryption of data in transit and access controls limiting who can view sensitive records.
3. Business Associate Relationships
Where we process PHI on behalf of a covered entity (such as a clinic or healthcare partner), we will enter into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) governing that relationship, as required under HIPAA.
4. Your Rights
Where HIPAA applies, individuals may have the right to access, request corrections to, or request restrictions on the use of their health information, subject to applicable law.
5. Breach Notification
In the event of a breach affecting unsecured PHI, we will notify affected individuals and relevant authorities in accordance with HIPAA's breach notification requirements.
